FAIR Press Journals was founded and is run by two statisticians. It is deliberately small, and the review engine does the heavy lifting, so a named human stands behind every decision.
Founders

- Jürgen Degenfellner, ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Winterthur, Switzerland.
Matthias Templ serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Reproducible Statistics. Jürgen Degenfellner leads one of the imprint's titles in preparation. Their research field (statistics, with a focus on reproducible computation and statistical disclosure control) is the journal's subject matter, and the privacy-preserving data service rests on that expertise.
A board is forming
A broader, institutionally independent editorial and advisory board is being formed and will be announced, each member with name, affiliation and country, on this page and on the journal's editorial board page.
Accountability
- Every editorial decision is read and signed by a named editor.
- Editors do not publish their own research in the journal they edit. An editor who submits to a FAIR Press Journals title they do not edit is treated as any other author: the conflict is declared, they take no part in any decision, sign-off or appeal concerning it, and the conflict is stated on the published article.
- Appeals are heard independently of whoever signed the contested decision, and founder-conflicted cases go to an arbiter external to the company (see the journal's complaints & appeals procedure).
